Lincoln Memorial University's College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU CVM) is one of the largest and fastest-growing veterinary colleges in the United States. However, its rapid expansion presented challenges for managing clinical training and assessments. LMU CVM, aiming to upgrade its nationwide veterinary program, conducted thorough market research and chose Medtrics as the ideal platform to fulfill its requirements. This collaboration enabled LMU CVM to transform key processes and provide exceptional learning experiences.
As LMU CVM experienced rapid expansion, its existing systems struggled to keep pace, presenting obstacles to optimal veterinary education. As enrollment doubled to 225 students per year, LMU CVM's outdated platforms could not scale, hampering efficiency and growth.
Medtrics’ expertise in education technology and collaborative approach facilitated LMU CVM’s transition to its user-friendly platform. Key implementation steps included a period of communication to align terminologies between human and veterinary medicine, establishing customized fields for veterinary case logging and transfer into Medtrics and continuous communication to refine the optimization of schedules.
Easy-to-use evaluations increased engagement. Streamlined case reporting provided administrators with better insights. Customizable electronic portfolio empowered meaningful mentorship opportunities. Customizable site profiles with multiple permission levels specifically catered to the unique needs of LMU's extensive network of hubs and locations.
Onboarding spanned multiple months across various modalities. Mitch explained, "It was a series of virtual meetings and handholdings and homework assignments and those sorts of things to get that part done." Converting terminology and data from the legacy system was crucial in shaping the platform to LMU CVM's specifications.
Medtrics revolutionized how LMU CVM manages assessments and training:
Mitch stated that "the students seem to believe it works well for them. It's easy to use, it's easy to figure out, it's easy for us to manage them using roles."
Since implementing Medtrics' solutions, LMU CVM achieved significant improvements. Administrators now gain data-driven insights to facilitate informed decision making and Mitch believes the continued evolution of the platform's capabilities will reduce friction in LMU CVM's processes. Allowing educators to focus on student development rather than wrestling with software. Now, through close collaboration and communication, Medtrics’ expertise in education technology facilitated LMU CVM’s transition to its user-friendly platform.
