At Medtrics, we continuously strive to enhance our platform by providing features that improve clarity, efficiency, and user control. This month, we’re excited to introduce three significant updates that will enhance the login experience, streamline evaluation notifications, and simplify user management. Read on to learn more about each update and how it benefits your institution.
Merge User Tool – Simplifying User Management
What’s New?
Duplicate user profiles can create significant administrative burdens, particularly for residency programs that rely on accurate reporting for federal funding. To address this, we’ve launched the Merge User tool, which allows institutional administrators to:
- Identify and compare duplicate profiles easily
- Merge two profiles into one while preserving key data
- Maintain accuracy in IRIS reports and Resident records
- Eliminate confusion caused by multiple user account

Why It Matters for Residency Programs
Residency programs depend on accurate tracking of Resident time for funding purposes. When duplicate profiles create discrepancies in IRIS reports, institutions risk delays or potential loss of funding. Previously, resolving duplicate profiles required manual intervention from Medtrics support, causing delays and inefficiencies. With the Merge User tool, administrators now have direct control, allowing them to merge profiles immediately and ensure seamless reporting and compliance.
How It Works
The Merge User tool follows a simple yet thorough process to maintain data integrity:
- Navigate to the Users section and select "Merge Users."
- Compare profile details such as demographics, program affiliations, and system activity.
- Choose the profile to retain and the duplicate to merge.
- Ensure email continuity and preserve critical contact information.
- Finalize the merge, consolidating all relevant data into a single profile.
Once the merge is complete, all data from the removed profile is transferred to the retained profile, ensuring clean and compliant records moving forward.
Customizable External Login Text
What’s New?
For institutions utilizing Single Sign-On (SSO), we have improved the clarity of login options by allowing customization of the external login text. This feature enables administrators to tailor the external login label to suit their organization’s needs, ensuring that users who do not use SSO can easily identify the correct login method.
Why It Matters
Previously, users unfamiliar with SSO might have struggled to determine the appropriate login method, leading to unnecessary support inquiries. Now, institutions can customize the external login text with labels such as “Site Staff” or “Preceptors” and add clarifying instructions like “Use this method if you are not directly affiliated with the university.” This improvement will reduce login-related confusion and save administrative time by decreasing support requests.
Improved "Evaluation Ready for Download" Notifications
What’s New?
We have enhanced the "Evaluation Ready for Download" notification to provide clearer context, ensuring that users can quickly assess and act on new evaluations without extra steps.
Why It Matters
Timely access to evaluations is crucial for educators and administrators. With this update, notifications now deliver essential details at a glance, eliminating the need for additional navigation or guesswork. This improvement enables users to make informed decisions more efficiently, ensuring a smoother evaluation process.
